The University of Lethbridge is seeking an Indigenous Recruitment Officer to join our Student Enrolment & Registrar Services team. In this role, you will actively engage prospective Indigenous students, develop and implement outreach initiatives, and help grow Indigenous student enrolment. You will build strong relationships with communities, families, and educators across Western Canada.
This position offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact by fostering awareness of ULethbridge programs, guiding students through the admissions process, and serving as an ambassador for the University.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop, plan, and deliver a strategic outreach plan dedicated to Indigenous learners, including in-person and virtual recruitment activities.
- Represent ULethbridge at high schools, community events, and post-secondary fairs across Canada, with an emphasis on Indigenous communities.
- Organize and participate in recruitment events such as Open House, Iniskim Future Students Day, information sessions, and campus tours.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, community organizations, counsellors, and Elders.
Prospective Student Support
- Respond to inquiries regarding admissions, scholarships, and student services, providing culturally-informed guidance throughout the enrolment journey.
- Support students in navigating post-secondary options and accessing relevant supports across the University.
- Facilitate enrolment advising appointments in person and virtually.
Data Management & Reporting
- Accurately record prospective student data, communication history, and event outcomes in the CRM system.
- Maintain detailed travel schedules, event reports, and conversion activity records.
Campus & Community Collaboration
- Build and sustain cooperative relationships with internal stakeholders including faculty, staff, and students, as well as external partners.
- Act as an ambassador for ULethbridge, enhancing brand awareness and trust within Indigenous communities.

Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- A completed bachelor’s degree.
- 0–2 years of related experience in recruitment, education, outreach, or community engagement.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of Treaty 7 Indigenous cultures and territory, specifically the Blackfoot Nations (Piikani, Kainai, and Siksika).
- Understanding of the Canadian post-secondary education landscape.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other Requirements

A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.

Willingness to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$5,291.00 - $5,990.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$5,291.00 - $6,687.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 12)
