Position Overview
The Signal Tester role involves planning, directing, and verifying the installation and testing of railway signaling systems, while ensuring seamless coordination with related construction activities. Ideal candidates bring at least three years of hands-on experience in signal maintenance and testing, with a deep understanding of CN, CP, or Metrolinx standards. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, this position plays a critical role in certifying systems for operational readiness.

Location
Our head office is based in Oakville. The successful candidate will be available to commute to our project locations around the GTA.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and oversee the adjustment, installation, and testing of signal-related work, ensuring coordination with related track construction activities.
- Attend progress meetings as scheduled or requested to address signal-related matters.
- Direct and certify the successful completion of all tests on signaling equipment and systems prior to releasing them for operation.
- Ensure all required documentation for tests and inspections is completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory and Authority standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Signal Maintainer or Technician, with hands-on expertise in maintenance, verification, testing, and commissioning of railway signaling systems.
- Strong knowledge of CN, CP, or Metrolinx Standard Codes of Practice, General Instructions, and Signal Design Manual.
- Proficient in interpreting signal plans, schematics, and test documentation.
- Capable of performing duties as a Test Supervisor.
- Skilled in developing and executing Test Plans and Procedures.
- Safety- and quality-conscious, with experience working in heavy construction environments and active rail corridors.
- Valid CROR Certification.

- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
- May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
