Island Health’s Department of Emergency Medicine invites certified emergency physicians to apply to join our progressive, collegial group of 30+ in the oceanfront community of Nanaimo, BC.

The Nanaimo Emergency Physicians Association provides emergency and trauma team leadership services in the busiest emergency department on Vancouver Island in a new, state-of-the-art department. The Nanaimo emergency department is a referral center for the central Vancouver Island catchment area with an annual census of 70,000 patient visits and has back-up from all of major specialties. Our unique Proceduralist service also allows our ERPs the opportunity to expand procedural skills. We also have several flexible shifts with variable start times which are popular from a lifestyle standpoint.

Previous experience working in our department is encouraged and can be arranged.
