Responsibilities PRIMARY PURPOSE

The HRIS Systems Lead is responsible for the collaboration across the People Services portfolio to enhance the current functioning and alignment of our Human resources data, processes, and systems. This position will work with all business areas to review the current use of technology and systems, assess processes and user needs to inform required improvements to enhance organizational readiness. This role ensures that Human Resources systems are integrated, cohesive and supportive of technology needs and objectives which includes the integrity, safekeeping, and compliant management of all employee data.

Key Accountabilities Leads the project pre-implementation process to support the target operating model for BCRTC, including review of existing relevant business rule documents, supports and reviews development of remaining business rule documents and tracks progress through traceability matrix, and ensures processes are documented, and requirements are met through working with the project team and stakeholders.

Supports the HR Digital Transformation Project as Workstream Lead working closely under the guidance of the workstream process owner, ensuring all specific business requirements are captured and addressed, and oversees the system configuration to align with business stream policies and compliance with transformation top of mind, and participates in all testing activities ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.

Acts as trainer to ensure ease of user adoption, creates documentations and ensures smooth knowledge transfer for Business stream staff on the new system. Oversees post-launch troubleshooting, system monitoring and ongoing user support.

Ensures adequacy in programs, projects and initiatives by conducting business requirements gathering, current state analysis, business process review, testing, training, documentation development, communication, and system configuration. Partners with People Services and business teams to build and maintain an HR technology platform that meets the needs of the business.

Leads the development and maintenance of HR Technology standards and controls at BCRTC to ensure data integrity and functionality by resolving problems and recommending solutions to meet requirements. Recommends and maintains procedures for users to ensure efficiency and data integrity including but not limited to user guides and process workflow documents.

Coordinates with internal and external Technology professionals to provide support for implementation, maintenance, modifications, integrations, and enhancements as required through problem solving, testing, analysis, reports, and documentation.

Provides day-to-day supervision of reporting staff, including selection, training, coaching, development, performance management and all other people management practices.

Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The requirements for this job are acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Computer Science and Engineering and six (6) years of progressively responsible positions supporting implementation, sustainment and continuous improvement of large, modern corporate HR Systems (i.e. Dayforce etc.) in a complex unionized environment.

Other Requirements Advanced functional knowledge of HR Systems functionalities, including reporting tools. Preference given to candidates with Dayforce and PeopleSoft functional experience.

Excellent planning and organizational skills to address systems information needs of multiple functional areas, and to balance and coordinate effort across multiple, concurrent activities.

Advanced decision-making skills to assess and respond to a variety of issues requiring decision in the project

Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate to a technical audience and business users. Capability to train users at all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical skills and deep technical expertise to address system-based requirements, drive processes, promote data integrity and ensure delivery of accurate reporting of data to the business.

Solid problem-solving skills to diagnose day-to-day operation of HR systems-related issues/requirements and troubleshoot solutions.

Proficient change management skills to emphasize process development, organization culture and change management

Solid experience working with Labour Relations and business teams in a unionized environment with knowledge of the application of collective agreements, work rules, policies, and procedures.

Excellent knowledge of Standard Office tools including word processing and spreadsheet software and use of web-based systems, database systems and reporting tools.

Solid leadership skills to provide full scope of supervision to reporting role/s.

Work Schedule 37.5 hours per week.

Rate of Pay The salary for this position ranges from $82,400 - $123,600 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
