Position Summary
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Outreach Worker will offer early intervention for women involved in the sex trade through empathetic first response street level engagement through outreach services. The worker will also provide referrals and transitions to other services, continue to build/consolidate partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and provide preventative activities such as education in the community. The worker will also be expected to staff the drop-in, and attend all programs and department staff meetings and relevant Mount Carmel Clinic committees, In addition, the incumbent will be required to perform household duties on a rotating basis or as needed basis. This includes but is not limited to laundry services, food preparation, and cleaning.
Qualifications
Education
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Skills, Expertise and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in community, preferably with program target population
- Experience providing outreach with hard to reach population
Critical Skills
Proven knowledge and ability in relationship-building, critical thinking, facilitation, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Focus on Results
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes
