As a Security Coordinator, you will ensure the services delivered to Facility Management (FM) meet their expectations and the service standards agreed to in the Service Level Agreement (SLA). You will oversee operational security support of business units as they transition to FM under the Corporate Coordination of Operations and Maintenance (CCOM). Primary duties include:
- Identify, address and resolve issues affecting security; prioritize and troubleshoot to decide on the correct action required.
- Coordinate access to facilities for contractors and maintenance by controlling and managing access levels/cards and keys.
- Act as a liaison between contractors and the business units on work projects.
- Assist Security Advisors with Threat Risk Assessments, identify risk and mitigation solutions.
- Work closely with the Lock Shop Coordinator on rekeying and master key projects.
- Assist in executing security projects and oversee work of contractors on site.
- Attend FM operational planning meetings to coordinate security services.
- Provide security consultation and advice to business units and civic partners.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) and at least 3 years of experience in a physical security role using Access Control systems, closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, target hardening methodologies as well as locks, keys and locking hardware.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Intermediate experience with Lenel access control, locking hardware functions, key control cabinets and CCTV systems.
- Applicants must possess or have the ability to obtain an Alberta Security Services license.
- A Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation (or in the process of working towards either designation) OR Basic Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) will be considered assets.
- Knowledge of conducting a Threat Risk assessment (TRA) will also be an asset.
- Well developed analytical and problem solving skills, effective communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- A current driver's abstract from the past 2 years must be provided.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
