What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the QA function at Kojo
  • This is a rare opportunity to iterate on the existing systems, team, and culture that will define quality for years to come
  • You’ll report to our Director of Engineering and lead a team of three QA Engineers (with potential to grow)
  • You’ll serve as both a hands-on contributor and a strategic leader—driving the evolution of our testing infrastructure while coaching your team and embedding a deep sense of customer empathy into every stage of development
  • You’ll be responsible for introducing automation, establishing scalable QA processes, and making quality a shared responsibility across our engineering teams
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of 3+ QA Engineers, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and team development
  • Champion a shift-left approach to quality—bringing customer behavior, expectations, and testability into early design and planning discussions
  • Design and implement a scalable automated regression testing framework to reduce reliance on manual testing over time
  • Act as a player-coach: contributing technically while empowering your team to take ownership of day-to-day execution
  • Balance immediate QA needs with longer-term strategic improvements—prioritizing for impact while building sustainable systems
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Design to proactively identify risk and advocate for quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Build and iterate on processes that support reliability, speed, and learning across the QA function
  • Lead triage for customer bugs and internal QA reports, surfacing patterns and driving improvements upstream
  • Manage up effectively—keeping key stakeholders informed, aligned, and engaged in QA priorities
