About the Role:

A dynamic and rapidly growing organization is currently seeking a skilled Finance Manager to support the oversight of its financial operations. This pivotal role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and financial analysis to guide strategic decision-making and strengthen overall financial performance.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a solid grasp of financial principles, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for key stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Co-Founder and CFO, this position offers significant opportunity for professional growth and leadership within the finance function.

How you will contribute to the team:

Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop budgets, and forecasts to support business growth, both at the operational and consolidated levels.
  • Develop and regularly update financial forecasts
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare variance analyses, identifying trends / KPI tracking and opportunities for cost savings.

Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (ASPE).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all entities at a a stand alone and consolidated level.
  • Bank Covenant Reporting for funding requirements
  • Provide oversight of processing, invoicing, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivables.
  • Responsible for maintenance of capital leases, line of credit, and other related financial activities with banks, and financial institutions

Cash Flow & Risk Management

  • Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Tax & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead Annual Audit and ensure risks are mitigated throughout the year
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Present financial insights to senior management and investors.

Qualifications:

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • CPA designation (or currently pursuing)
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a solid track record in preparing financial statements in Canada
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including consolidation accounting
  • Experience working with audits, restructuring, or acquisitions in a publicly traded, private equity–backed, or mid-sized private company
  • Prior experience managing a small team (1–3 Accounting Analysts)
  • M&A exposure is a plus, though not required
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, FP&A, and cash management
  • Proficiency in QBO (QuickBooks Online) is an asset
  • Experience in service-based businesses is highly desirable, particularly with accrual accounting, project billing, and margin analysis

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • High level of proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with senior leadership, operating teams, and banking partners
  • Tech-savvy and continuously looking for ways to improve systems and processes
  • Collaborative and adaptable with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
