Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Quality Assurance Clerk - Brampton to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team.

The Quality Assurance team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by Quality Assurance Team in Brampton In this role, you will provide clerical support to the Quality Assurance unit in accordance with all regulatory requirements and Canadian Blood Services policies, procedures and practices.

Formula for success

  • Drawing on your organizational skills, you will ensure that current, approved documents, forms, and labels are always available for department use.
  • Using your data entry skills, you will accurately input information such as Quality Control data and non-conformance reports.
  • Leveraging your ability to manage databases, you will help create and maintain filing and tracking systems for key documentation and controlled materials.
  • Utilizing your thoroughness, you will inspect incoming forms and supplies, ensuring all applicable records are properly documented and retained.
  • Sharing your knowledge, you may assist in training new team members on the QA Clerk role and its responsibilities.
  • Embracing a team-oriented mindset, you will perform additional duties as required, contributing to the smooth operation of the unit.

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary education is preferred, ideally in a related field.
  • At least one year of office or administrative experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working with documentation and filing systems in quality-focused settings is an asset.
  • Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP experience is an asset.
  • Ability to follow procedures precisely and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
