Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting, the Junior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for developing and/or conducting financial analyses of aviation programs and the operating costs of the Longueuil plant, as well as participating in the company’s budgeting and forecasting exercises. The Junior Financial Analyst is also responsible for certain accounting activities during the month-end process.
This role will allow the candidate to develop skills in financial accounting and business management within a manufacturing environment. The candidate will gain knowledge of the supply chain, production operations, and aviation programs, in order to assess their accounting impact and their effect on the plant’s profitability.
The position is designed as a development platform leading toward a Financial Analyst and, eventually, a Senior Analyst role.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform monthly analysis of various aviation programs and factory operating costs.
- Prepare and regularly update the costed bill of materials (CBOM) for different items.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction, and provide related recommendations.
- Participate in the month-end process, including journal entries, preparation of financial statements, and related analysis and commentary.
- Contribute to the development of the division's budgets and financial forecasts.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders involved in the programs and factory operations (program management, operations, procurement, etc.).
- Produce monthly KPIs and take part in performance review meetings.
Qualifications:

University degree in Business Administration

Member of the CPA professional order, or in the process of obtaining the designation, is an asset

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role

Demonstrates initiative and excellent communication skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel

Bilingual
