About The Opportunity Our client, a dynamic private sector Ottawa employer, we are recruiting for a Human Resources Specialist. This role is integral to supporting managers in two locations in all employee relations, health and safety and performance management initiatives under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Human Resources.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides guidance and advice to managers regarding employee development including recognition, performance appraisals, performance improvement plans and progressive discipline
- Works closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support the organizations recruitment process and participate, as needed
- Conducts workplace investigations and makes decision regarding outcomes
- Works closely with employees to ensure a friendly, inclusive and high-performance environment
- Supports the benefits plan administration and employee leave program
- Maintains all employee records
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Post secondary education in Human Resources with extensive knowledge of the Employment Standards Act
- Two plus years of relevant experience in Human Resources
- Experience working closely with managers to recognize and manage performance
- Experience managing leaves, health and safety initiatives and workplace accommodations
- Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages is an asset
About the Job This position is a full time/permanent position, offering $70,000-$80,000 with a comprehensive benefits plan. To ensure the highest standard of employee care, this role is an on-site position with the occasional need for extended hours and travel within 200 km to service two locations. They are located central east with free parking.
