Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position Overview

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on people's lives? We’re looking for a Case Management Support Specialist to join our dynamic team! In this role, you'll assist individuals with OES applications, create action plans for return-to-work success, and provide crucial support for job-starts and long-term training interventions. If you're a detail-oriented, compassionate professional ready to help people navigate their career paths, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will assess client eligibility, assist with OES applications, and ensure clients are informed about available services. They will coordinate referrals, facilitate client flow, and collaborate with employment counselors to address job-starts and financial support needs. The role involves developing return-to-work action plans, monitoring long-term interventions, and administering financial supports in line with WorkBC policy. Responsibilities include tracking and reporting on services, maintaining accurate client files, and coordinating with external agencies for client progress updates. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to team discussions and program development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 2 years of experience in employment counseling or related fields, with a focus on employment counseling, and be working toward or holding a Career Development Practitioner certificate. They should possess strong assessment skills, a solid understanding of labor market trends, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and ICM.

The role requires critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in a performance-driven environment. The candidate must be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working with diverse clients in a culturally sensitive manner, while maintaining confidentiality and meeting team goals. As services are primarily delivered in English, strong English communication skills are essential. Additional language skills in Arabic, Swahili, or Somali are considered assets, given the needs of the communities we serve.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
