We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to join our growing Client Accounting Services (CAS) team. This role is ideal for a former fractional CFO, Controller, or experienced senior finance leader who is passionate about delivering high-impact advisory and accounting services to clients across a variety of industries. As a strategic leader in our CAS practice, you will oversee complex engagements, mentor a team of bookkeepers/staff accountants, and deliver value-added insights through technology-driven accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online (QBO), DEXT, Fathom, and others.

Responsibilities
- Act as a lead advisor and fractional CFO/controller for a portfolio of clients, primarily in the SMB and professional services sectors
- Collaborate with the CAS Partner to develop and implement growth strategies for CAS, including expansion of value-added and virtual CFO services
- Contribute to firm-wide CAS initiatives including technology implementation, process optimization, and staff training
- Lead client onboarding, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, KPI tracking, and strategic financial advisory
- Serve as the main point of contact for key client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery and client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for business improvement, cost savings, and financial clarity for clients
- Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers/staff accountants, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close and reporting
- Establish workflow best practices and accountability standards to manage multiple client files efficiently
- Play an active role in hiring, training, and coaching staff as the CAS team scales
- Own the financial reporting process from transactional bookkeeping to monthly financial statements and dashboards
- Troubleshoot complex accounting issues and ensure accuracy in reconciliations, accruals, and compliance with ASPE or tax basis as needed
- Lead the implementation and integration of cloud-based accounting tools: QBO, DEXT, Plooto, Wagepoint, Hubdoc, Xero, or similar platforms
Qualifications
- CPA designation (or equivalent international designation); MBA or additional financial certifications considered an asset
- 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior roles as Controller or CFO, preferably in a fractional or outsourced model
- Demonstrated success managing multiple client relationships in a public practice, CAS firm, or similar outsourced finance setting
- Deep knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential. Experience with DEXT, Hubdoc, Wagepoint, Xero, and related tools strongly preferred
- Experience working with or managing bookkeeping teams in a technology-enabled environment
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with project-based pricing models or value billing in professional services
- Exposure to startup, freight forwarding, manufacturing or professional services
- Familiarity with KPIs, dashboards, and building management reporting packages in Excel, Fathom, or Power BI
