About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures

continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,

Under the general direction of the Manager of Nutrition and Food Services, the Coordinator plans, organizes, directs

and supervises the activities of the Nutrition and Food Services department (excluding Dietitians). Other

requirements include but not limited to, audits, department compliancy to government regulations, scheduling and

payroll, approval of time sheets in UKG, annual budgets, education. The Coordinator looks for continuous quality

improvement in the provision of food and experiences for patient, staff and other customers.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

* Membership or willing to obtain the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management

* Successful completion of an approved Food Services Management 2 year community college program or the

Canadian Hospital Association’s Food Services and Nutritional Management Program

* Managing Food Safety Certificate

* Minimum 3 years’ experience successfully managing large quantity production kitchens

* Thorough understanding and demonstrated expertise in implementation and ongoing documentation of food

production HACCP standards is an asset

Skills/Abilities:

* Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

* Ability to work effectively individually and within a team setting

* Analytical skills in order to monitor, assess and implement programs and address operational needs and ensure

fiscal sustainability

* Leadership and teamwork skills to support, coach, direct, mentor and teach to promote positive staff relations

* Proficient in the use of computer applications such as e‑mail systems, UKG, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel

* Demonstrated stability when handling conflict, demanding circumstances and multiple priorities.

* High level of initiative and self‑direction

Assets:

* Customer Experience Training and Employee Management Training.

* Red Seal Chef Certification

* Experience in management in a Health Care Setting

* Thorough understanding and demonstrated expertise in implementation and ongoing documentation of food

production HACCP standards

Salary Range: $45.351 to 53.354
