Position Summary

The incumbent provides front-line communication and clerical support for both internal and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for answering and directing calls, dispatching service requests, and addressing customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. The position also monitors alarm systems, responds to emergency codes, troubleshoots basic telecommunications issues, and performs a variety of clerical tasks to support departmental operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with telecommunications and network systems are essential. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Required

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent education with working experience.
  • Must have demonstrated typing and other basic clerical skills including computer ie. Microsoft Office, e-mail and faxing experience.
  • For internal candidates, disciplinary and attendance records will be considered.

Duties

  • Answers telephone and or console, takes messages, screens and re-routes calls for both internal and external customers.
  • Dispatches tasks utilizing computer software.
  • Resolves service problems to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Monitors alarm panels and initiates response to codes and alarms
  • Trouble shoots pager and telephone handling questions.
  • Attends all dept./hospital in-service orientation and other meetings as required.
  • Competence with telecommunications and network technology.
  • Performs other clerical functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
