Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the 4th Class Power Engineer will participate in the start-up, commissioning, maintenance and operation of the powerhouse. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to supervise the installation, gaining an in-depth understanding of the systems prior to operating them.
Pay: $32.94 - $34.94 per hour
Responsibilities
- Perform safe operation and maintenance of all utilities equipment including; boiler, air compressors, glycol heating equipment, air handling units, and our fire protection system.
- Perform daily tasks to ensure we follow boiler regulations.
- Ensure food quality standards are met by following GMP’s and HACCP rules and regulations.
- Perform regulator maintenance on the Powerhouse equipment to prevent down time.
- Build and contribute to a plant-wide safety culture, believing in zero injuries.
- Participate in a respectful work environment where employees can bring forward not only ideas and improvements but concerns of all nature, including safety and harassment issues.
- Utilize the CMMS including creation of notifications and completion of work orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
- Must be able to work rotating Shift work including nights and weekends/holidays.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in food processing considered an asset.
- Experience in commissioning and start-ups an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Hours
- Full time position, 84 hours biweekly
- Monday to Sunday rotating 12-hour shifts on a Panama schedule
- Shift premium for nights
- Overtime may be required during peak periods
