The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA’s primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Compliance Unit, the Manager, Compliance Unit, contributes to certain activities related to WADA’s World Anti-Doping Code (Code) compliance monitoring program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review Code Signatory anti-doping rules (rules) and national legislation, decrees, policies and regulations (where relevant) to ensure that they are in line with the Code and the International Standards;
- Liaise with compliance colleagues and Code Signatories on amendments required until drafts are considered in line with the Code;
- Contribute to the drafting of papers related to compliance of rules and legislation for the independent Compliance Review Committee, WADA’s Executive Committee and Foundation Board;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of WADA’s Code compliance monitoring strategy, activities and processes as it relates to rules and legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- University degree in law;
- Experience in a regulatory environment would be an asset;
- Experience in drafting documents of a certain technical nature;
- Experience working in an international setting, and in in particular in relation to sport, would be an asset;
- Ability to provide accurate analysis and suggesting appropriate solutions to problems encountered;
- Ability to multitask and to work accurately under pressure;
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines, organize and prioritize work;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse environment;
- Excellent oral and written skills in one of the two WADA official languages (English/French) and good command of the other official language. Spanish or other languages would be an asset;
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Periodic evening and/or weekend work expected;
- Fit with organizational culture: Teamwork, team spirit and love of sport;
