Course description:
Criticism is a practice of writing distinct from academic argumentation or artists' writings, with a long history in periodicals, newspapers, and exhibition catalogues. The course surveys the genre to analyze key texts that have shaped the narrative of art leading to, and including, the current discourse. Students both read and write criticism in the course, experimenting with voice, rhetoric, and polemics.

$9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term); $10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term); $10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Minimum qualifications:
MA or MFA required with teaching experience. Applicants may be asked to supply references.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience teaching art courses/students.
Description of duties:
Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials and platform, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
