We are looking for a Foreman who will be responsible for scheduling, workplace planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, consistent and fair application of all policies, procedures, and productivity of crews.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities and assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs

  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirement or to plan procedures

  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met

  • Lead daily site meetings, monitor, and record daily activities

  • Evaluate projects to determine compliance with technical specification

  • Inspect equipment or tools to be used in construction or excavation

  • Set elevations and grades for roads, underground utilities and slap prep

  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies

  • Ensure compliance with Wales McLelland Safety Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience

  • Familiar with grades

  • The ability to work safely around live utilities

  • Red Seal certificate or equivalent is required

  • Must be safety orientated, self-motivated and work well with others

  • As solid communicator both written and verbal

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Valid BC Driver's License

  • Must be physically fit and able

  • Level 2 first aid is an asset

  • Must have your own vehicle

  • Able to work flexible schedule including night shifts.
