Job Title: Part-Time Transit Dispatcher (Evenings & Weekends)

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Transit Dispatcher to join our operations team on a part-time basis. This role plays a key part in coordinating transit services, ensuring on-time performance, and maintaining open lines of communication with drivers and management. The successful candidate will be available for evening and weekend shifts, and have strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch drivers for scheduled transit routes and respond to any changes or disruptions
- Monitor operations to ensure service runs smoothly and on time
- Maintain effective communication with drivers throughout their shift
- Log and track service activity, delays, incidents, and other relevant details
- Assist in rerouting and resolving issues during delays or emergencies
- Keep accurate and organized records of dispatch activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dispatching, transit operations, or logistics is an asset but not required
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions in fast-paced situations
- Comfortable using phones, radios, and computer systems (training provided)
- Reliable and punctual, with strong attention to detail
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
