As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will work closely with technical development resources, business unit clients, Information Technology (IT) Account Managers, and other IT divisions for the delivery of successful IT projects. You are a vibrant, self-motivated individual who can deliver IT projects that provide business value as well as promote and support the success of Client Solutions, the IT business unit, and our clients. Primary duties include:
- Provide systems analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Lead Developers and provide coaching on their career and personal development.
- Manage projects using a variety of technologies, programming languages, methodologies, and concepts.
- Oversee project planning and estimating, as well as change leadership.
- Provide status reporting, including formal reports and presentations.
- Communicate with a broad spectrum of interested parties.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience; OR
- A completed 2 year Technical Diploma with at least 8 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience in software development will be considered an asset.
- Experience in analysis, design and implementation for web-based applications, requirements gathering, relational database modelling; project management, software development methodologies, and project planning and estimating would be considered assets.
- Knowledge of The City of Calgary¿s standards, processes and procedures as well as a project management experience would be considered assets.
- You demonstrate excellent leadership attributes; the ability to collaborate and innovate; as well as the ability to work independently and as part of diversified teams.
- You are a strong communicator, who develops trusted relationships and demonstrates: initiative, a customer service focus, positive ambassadorship, and the ability to meet commitments.
Pre-employment Requirements
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
