Overview
Komoka Kilworth Home Hardware Building Centre (‘KKHHBC’) is currently seeking a Weekend Lumberyard Supervisor who would be responsible for supporting our Lumberyard Operations and Personnel. The candidate would make sure the Yard buildings and areas are neat, clean, and orderly. This person must have the ability to read invoices, bill of lading, pick-lists, customer orders, etc. This role is responsible for Yard operations, including maintenance of facilities, and employee support, guidance, and motivation. All tasks must be performed with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on our level of service to our customers and the community.
Responsibilities

Must have strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills

Must have experience in effective time management strategies and execution to support a fast-paced work environment where prioritizing tasks and managing your time is critical, due to the volume of customer interactions and deliveries

Keep warehouses, storage, and check-in areas neat, clean, and orderly
-
Must be able to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, and delivery personnel
-
Must be able to work co-operatively in a team-oriented atmosphere
-
Must consistently review operations and opportunities to consider business foresight to support effective future planning
-
Must be effective at building strong relationships and motivating teams toward a common goal, while holding them accountable to GHHBC standards
-
Move heavy and bulky merchandise for customers and for sales personnel
-
Adjust shortages, damages, backorders, etc., accordingly
-
Maintain maximum security in warehouse and check-in areas to support loss prevention
-
Provide storage area for repair items, seasonal changeover, etc.

Move merchandise from Yard to Store as needed
-
Follow company procedures regarding required signatures, forms, receipts, etc.

Load and unload merchandise and materials
-
Follow all safety precautions when loading and unloading freight
-
Know the correct location of all products in stock in the Lumber Yard
-
Work on special projects assigned by your manager after determining their priority in relation to your other responsibilities

Follow proper documentation procedures for merchandise that is to be returned or refused
-
Suggest policy and procedure changes to promote organizational efficiency and improvement
-
Treat all employees with respect

Provide direction for Lumber Yard personnel

Attend meetings, training sessions, etc. as required
-
Strongly recommended to have intermediate understanding of technology and software applications (excel, word, digital timeclock process and scheduling, etc.)

Establish goals for operations and ensure that they are met, areas of opportunity are identified, and solutions to bridge the gaps are suggested and implemented
-
Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management
-
Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected.
