Who we're looking for:
We are seeking an experienced individual contributor Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Networking to join our innovative team at Rogers. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud experience, along with Terraform automation experience. Looking for someone who will enjoy the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a supportive environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Google Cloud & AWS services through Terraform
- Configure and manage AWS Direct Connect & Dedicated Interconnects, including setup of virtual interfaces and BGP routing
- Implement and optimize connectivity between AWS & Google Cloud and on-premises networks and data centers
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and infrastructure-related issues in hybrid environments
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance across hybrid infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and infrastructure-related issues in hybrid environments
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AWS & Google Cloud services and hybrid cloud technologies
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in AWS and Google Cloud, with a strong focus on networking, and hybrid cloud architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53, EKS, IPv6 and API Gateway.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services such as VPC, Dedicated Interconnect, NCC, Cloud Router, Cloud DNS.
- Proficiency in network routing protocols, specifically BGP.
- Expertise in configuring and managing AWS Direct Connect and Google Cloud Dedicated Interconnect
- Strong understanding of network architectures and experience designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions
- Experience optimizing network flows and data transfer between AWS and Google Cloud and on-premises data centers
- Hands-on experience with IAM roles, Policies and SCP management including cross-account access patterns.
- Strong knowledge maintaining security guardrails at scale across AWS Organizations, Control Tower and Identity Center.
- Experience with automating IAM operations using infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Ability to optimize cloud resources to minimize costs while meeting performance and scalability requirements. Understanding of cloud pricing models and cost management tools is essential.
- AWS and Google Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Google Cloud Network Professional) are a plus
