OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross® is seeking a contract senior process business analyst for a 12 month term to lead the analysis and documentation of IT business processes.
The Process Analyst is responsible for enhancing efficiency by consolidating and streamlining processes across IT. This role involves identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and ensuring alignment with business and IT strategic objectives. The analyst collaborates with leaders across IT to implement process enhancements that drive performance improvements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work with IT teams to document and consolidate the IT processes.
- Develop detailed process maps and documentation to capture current workflows and identify areas for improvement across IT.
- Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance performance and integration.
- Work with process owners to execute process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with leaders across IT to gather requirements and ensure process changes align with business objectives.
- Work with the change management team to support the implementation of process changes, including training and communication plans to ensure smooth transitions.
- Document requirements using use case modeling concepts.
- Support design and documentation of future state processes and data flow.
- Support the development of the user training documentation for business users to ensure effective and efficient use of the new systems.
- Coordinate the efforts of other business analysts.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Completion of a software development technical institute or university diploma/degree program is required.
- A minimum of ten years direct experience in the area of business process analysis.
- Demonstrated strong proficiency in using BPMN 2.0.
- Strong facilitation skills that will be utilized in conducting user workshops to define requirements.
- Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML), including but not limited to activity diagrams, use cases, sequence diagrams etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both the user community and technical teams.
- Experience in drawing out requirements from the business teams and effectively communicate those requirements to the technical teams.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize symptoms, diagnose causes and identify alternative solutions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, and SQL Navigator.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Decision-making ability and demonstrated leadership potential is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation and the big picture.
- Ability to multitask and meet the challenges of a fast-paced changing environment.
- Working knowledge of/experience with Project Management body of knowledge and software development methodologies would be beneficial.
