About the role

As an Assembly Welder, you are responsible for welding metal components together to form a final product that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of a strong understanding of welding techniques and an eye for detail to produce the highest quality welds.

Location: 1556 Industrial Road, Cambridge, ON

Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Job Duties:

  • Read and follow technical drawings and blueprints to understand the welding requirements for each product
  • Ensure proper materials are selected for each job to weld together metal components
  • Follow safety protocols and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuries
  • Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to complete large welding jobs
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Ensure welding machines are properly calibrated
  • Repair and rework welds as needed
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure production schedules are met

Skills & Experience:

  • Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Required to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing specifications, procedures, and work instructions
  • Assembly welding tasks require collaboration with team members, effective communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions when working on projects that involve multiple team members
  • Physical requirements include standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending while welding
  • Extreme temperature exposure to weather changes (heat)

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of fabrication processes including fitting with the assistance of a fixture and welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
