Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals
- Interface with MSHA/MOL and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required
- Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed or applicable
- Participate in the daily morning production meeting
- Preparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively
- Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees
- Actively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and production
- A good understanding of the maintenance modules under the CMMS system (SAP 5.0)
- Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”
- Ensure the execution of the daily maintenance plan
- Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
- Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
- Provide feedback to the maintenance team on goals and expectations status
- Responsible for discretionary spending budget
- Lead the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs
Requirements

Related Engineering Bachelor Degree is preferred

Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in construction, manufacturing and/or industrial settings related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc

Demonstrated competency in preventative and predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance management systems

Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills

Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic

Fluency in spoken and written English

Our 28 manufacturing facilities supply and serve 33 states and provinces in the eastern USA and Canada, and employ over 2,000 employees.
