Security Attendant - To Create a Casual List - Security Services Division - Department of Facilities Management
About the role
The Department of Facilities Management, Security Services Division, is seeking an applicant to fill a Security Attendant position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Staffing the Security Services office dispatch desk and NRCC desk
- Assisting in the protection of persons and property throughout campus
- Counter and phone reception
- Respond to emergencies, maintenance issues and a variety of alarm systems
- Respond to calls for assistance
- Controlling access to areas
- Lost and found duties
- Enforcing parking regulations
- Monitoring the CCTV system
- Investigate and scene management of illegal activities on campus and in residence
- Prepare reports as required
- Perform cash escorts on campus
- Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have completed courses in Law and Security, Corrections or possess an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Excellent writing, speaking and computer skills
- Ability to work shift work, 12 hour shifts, and extended shifts with short notice.
- Ability to obtain a Federal background check
- Be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Knowledge of the UPEI campus would be an asset
