JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reporting to the Alberta Regional Manager
- Attending or investigating claims on behalf of our principals to: assess damages, create scopes of repair, interview claimants and witnesses and create scene diagrams
- Reviewing policy wordings to determine coverage
- Communicating findings of investigations in a detailed report format
- Reviewing professional reports related to the claim; such as, engineering, accounting, legal or building consultant
- Authorizing or denying coverage based on findings and instructions received from our principals
- Negotiating settlements with insureds and/or claimants based on instructions received from our principals
- Ensuring that claims are processed in accordance with statutory requirements
- Investigating suspicious claims
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive property & casualty claims handling experience
- Active Alberta adjuster license
- CIP Designation, or working towards CIP Designation
- Outstanding mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and OneNote
- Experience and ability to navigate a claims management system
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion
- The ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment
