The Manager, Business Analysis is a key player within the BBCR D&A team, supporting strategic enhancements to the Business Banking data repository, Encore, CARDS and the Business Intelligence in BBCR D&A.
The internal and external demand for accurate, consistent, and on-demand information from GRM continues grow. The Manager, Business Analysis will review and assess stakeholder business needs for improved risk information and help define new MIS reporting and or systems enhancements to respond to these business, operational and compliance requirements.
Informational gaps are resolved through business analysis to determine the correct solutions to the deficiency. Activities include data analysis, business requirement documentation, solution determination, review & approval, and supporting system enhancements, development, business acceptance testing and implementation. This role will also provide key support to the BBCR D&A Risk Reporting & Analytics team to ensure consistent design of reports to enterprise definitions and approach.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Define, assess and writes detailed analysis and documentation of Business Requirements for new applications & legacy systems enhancements, to be designed by development groups.
- Analyses and identifies gaps with current Systems and Reporting capabilities.
- Define MIS reporting needs and write detailed requirements for new or existing reporting that will provide GRM improved risk information and reporting capabilities.
- Analyze existing and emerging credit information needs and processes within GRM departments considering business priorities and regulatory initiatives.
- Support the business by reviewing technical documents (FSD’s/EDD’s) and participating in testing and implementation.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Proficiency in Business Analysis procedures and requirements, as well as technical design requirements
- Multiple delivery groups, all playing a unique role within a team environment. IT & S being a key partner.
- Highly developed analytical and strategic thinking.
- Working understanding of Scotiabank’s operational practices, systems infrastructure, and integration requirements
- Experience in writing business requirements for systems development.
- Experience in Banking and or Credit is desirable.
- Experience in data modeling, and the ability to grasp a customized repository approach.
- Proficient in Query Language i.e. SQL
- Experience working in a project environment.
- Strong understanding of technical design, systems infrastructure and I T & S analysis/process requirements, is desirable.
- Commerce/business/economics degree &/or technical background.
