Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • 5–10 years of relevant hospital experience and Master of Business Administration or Masters in Health Administration preferred
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of hospital funding, finance and benchmarking approaches/methodologies as well as broader health care industry knowledge
  • Conceptual and strategic thinking, supported by data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Hands-on experience in transformation, clinical operations management, or process improvement
  • Experience with project management (or PMP designation)
  • Change management certification an asset
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies - certification is an asset.

Primary Responsibilities

Director, Operational Excellence
Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operational Excellence will focus on driving operational efficiency, championing continuous improvement, and financial sustainability initiatives. You will play a critical role in helping Southlake Health achieve its operational efficiency and sustainability goals by ensuring operational processes are optimized and meet hospital benchmarks and expected performance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Identify, analyze, and lead the implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization while ensuring a positive patient, staff and provider experience

  • Provide leadership to fully leverage external and internal benchmarking results and standardization

  • Lead implementation of initiatives that support both clinical and operational processes through the use of process improvement methodologies

  • Track and monitor implementation efforts to sustain results and refine processes

  • Act as the internal cross functional support leaders providing guidance and consultation to key areas, allowing portfolio leaders to leverage your expertise to champion change initiatives that align strategically

  • Facilitate workshops and/or other forums to focus improvement, transfer knowledge and engage team members, managers and leaders across the organization

  • Develop the operational excellence roadmap, aligned with the organization's strategic plan in collaboration with key internal stakeholders

  • Deliver results according to the implementation approach approved by the Executive Leadership Team

  • Own the execution and management of projects with impact across multiple service areas and be responsible for building synergies and efficiencies between the different functions

  • The role will work closely with other cross-functional teams to drive business performance and is a key contributor to achieving a balanced operating budget position

  • Champion and sustain a robust improvement infrastructure allowing program-level operational improvements to be made in near real time with cross-functional collaboration and sharing across portfolios

  • Provide coaching and training to leaders on operational excellence
