Job Details:
Position Title: Student Recruitment Officer
Status: FT Support
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Recruitment and Student Mobility
Campus/Location: North and/or Lakeshore Campus must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of three (3) days on-site.
Salary: FT Support Payband: I
Salary Range: $39.34 - $45.59
Starting Salary: $39.34
Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the Office of Recruitment and Student Mobility at Humber:
Recruitment and Student Mobility supports prospective students considering Humber. We act as the first point of contact for new and existing Humber students as we deliver impactful and high-quality programming to high schools, colleges, universities and the community raising Humber’s profile and increasing awareness of our program and pathway options. As a collaborative team, we work with learners thinking of starting their journey at Humber as well as those looking to add to their previous professional and academic experiences through a new and exciting pathway. About the Student Recruitment Officer Role:
The Student Recruitment Officer is an integral member of Humber’s strategic enrolment team and is a significant contributor to shaping the public image of Humber. Using labour market trends, college enrolment patterns, government policy and market segment research, you implement recruitment initiatives and pre admissions advising for prospective students to ensure that Humber meets its enrolment and revenue targets by generating a strong applicant pool.
Under the general direction of the Manager, New Student Recruitment & Advising, you also serve as the first point of contact for communicating clear and concise information about a broad range of program related questions to students, applicants, guidance counselors, parents, faculty and college administrators. You establish and administers programming on and off campus to high schools, college and university fairs, community fairs as well as other recruitment events with various stakeholders by delivering impactful presentations to increase college awareness and our offerings You meet with prospective students and families individually and in groups to deliver pre-admission advising either in-person, or virtually or telephone.
This position involves out of town travel, along with significant evening and weekend hours.

Education
The successful candidate will possess a four (4)-year degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business or Public Relations.
Experience/Skills
- Minimum 2-years professional work experience in a public relations/marketing capacity.
- Experience in admissions/marketing/post-secondary recruitment or an understanding of entrance requirements and/or career opportunities is a significant asset.
- Understanding all levels of the provincial education systems, threats, trends and legislation at the ministry level is an asset along with research and evaluation skills.
- Prior knowledge on Humber policies, practices, programs, as well as Ministry guidelines and procedures will be a big asset.
- Demonstrated skill in public speaking and retaining an audience’s attention both in person and using virtual technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional public speaking and strong presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Great time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- Event planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal talents.
- Ability to respond quickly to changing client/environmental needs.
- Experience and comfort with technologies like MS Suite and CRM.
- A valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required for this position along with the ability to drive long distances and lift heavy boxes.
