Employee Store Clerk – Port Coquitlam

Overview of the role: Saputo is looking for a Store Clerk to coordinate and maintain our in-house employee store. Our store stocks a variety of milk and dairy products, including specialty cheese.

Schedule: Tuesday 1:30pm – 7:00pm and Thursday 2:30pm-8:00pm

Salary: $22-25/h

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Maintain and adhere to company health and safety procedures, standards, and policies.
  • Adhere to food safety requirements, processes, and guidelines.
  • Greet employees and answer questions about products.
  • Maintain a well-organized and orderly storefront.
  • Unload weekly deliveries and organize stock room area.
  • Ensure all products are fresh and within expiration date.
  • Process customer payments using point of sale debit equipment.
  • Receive inventory, process orders, and generate inventory reports.
  • Conduct inventory counts and re-order stock.
  • Safely and accurately replenish product shelves.
  • Light cleaning including sweeping, mopping, and dusting work area to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Store open and close duties.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Education

Attention to detail is essential for inventory counts and stocking shelves to company standards.

Basic math skills are required to accurately close out transactions.

Ability to manually enter all sales transactions and use electronic calculator to total each sale.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, MS Word

  • Physical

Ability to spend an extended period working in a standing position.

Ability to bend and lift products onto store shelves.

Ability to work in a cold environment (cooler) while stocking products.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Customer Service

Friendly and approachable approach and attitude.

Excellent customer service skills.

Must be reliable, punctual, and accountable to arrive at work on time to open store and follow close out procedures at the end of each shift.
