Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our professional team. This position will primarily focus on performing first reviews of corporate financial statements and providing key support in the preparation and analysis of corporate accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in accounting, solid communication skills, and a passion for mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct first-level reviews of Compilation Engagements (prepared under CSRS 4200) for corporate clients
· Review and verify corporate tax returns (T2), working paper files, and supporting documentation
· Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks, CaseWare, and Sage to review and ensure accuracy of financial records
· Perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity
· Provide quality control checks and identify areas for improvement or correction in client files
· Apply expertise in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial records
· Collaborate effectively with team members to coordinate engagement file completion and client deliverables
· Stay current with evolving accounting and tax regulations, including ASPE and CSRS 4200
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of public practice experience, ideally with focus on corporate files
- Proficiency in CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax rules
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
