- Recruitment range: $62,989- $69,444 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Job Summary
Mandate:
The Annual Giving Coordinator is responsible for program implementation and coordination of annual giving programs. This position is instrumental in the on-going planning and delivery of multi-channel fundraising appeals and donor stewardship initiatives designed to facilitate a lifelong relationship with UVic donors, alumni and students.
Alumni & Development is the unit of the university responsible for creating strong relationships and building philanthropic commitment between the University of Victoria and its alumni and friends. It comprises a committed staff team who work both centrally and in faculties and units to identify opportunities where faculty, staff, donors, and alumni can be instrumental to enhancing UVic’s programs, research, and student support.
The Annual Giving Office collaborates with faculties and units to deliver fundraising programs and communications to encourage philanthropy and engagement amongst faculty, staff, friends, and 130,000+ alumni.
The role of the Annual Giving Coordinator is to provide direct support to the planning and execution of an effective annual giving program.
Objectives:
The Annual Giving Coordinator will be responsible for fulfilling activities and duties that support the university’s annual giving efforts. The incumbent will execute annual giving appeals, for both pan-university and unit-specific fundraising priorities, through copy writing and editing, data management, and graphic design. They will lead effective annual giving-level donor relations initiatives related to annual giving appeals and the Monthly Giving Club. They will assist with maintaining giving software platforms and online giving pages. They will also correspond with donors, through phone and email, with a high degree of professionalism.
This role will be required to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking is essential.
Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Experience creating briefing notes, reports, and other documents for various audiences.
- Ability to identify and analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to apply project management best practices to achieve project goals on time.
- Ability to collaborate, build and maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and work effectively in a team environment.
- High level of professionalism and tact for communication with donors, alumni, and external partners.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising practices and principles.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and extracting data from a CRM system, such as Raiser’s Edge.
Assets:
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM.
- Experience using email software, such as NetCommunity or Engaging Networks, to create and send mass emails.
- Experience working as an active member of planning committees.
- Experience with higher education and/or a complex organization.
