Job Summary

The Specialist, Real Estate plays a key role in delivering tailored commercial real estate services to business clients looking to establish or expand in Calgary. Reporting to the Director, Real Estate and Investor Experience, this role supports companies across the full real estate lifecycle—from identifying property needs to facilitating site visits and removing operational barriers—ensuring that clients have the market insight, support, and connections required for successful investment.

This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 times a week.

Key Responsibilities

Real Estate Services & Client Support

  • Lead real estate service delivery for companies seeking to grow their physical presence in Calgary.
  • Assess client needs and provide insights on land, industrial, office, and retail availability.
  • Coordinate real estate site tours and facilitate introductions to landlords, brokers, and developers.
  • Support clients through permitting and municipal processes that impact timelines.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Investor Experience teams on integrated client service.

Stakeholder Relations & Market Insight

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Team Calgary real estate partners, developers, consultants, and City of Calgary administration.
  • Participate in the City of Calgary Industrial Strategy Working Group (ISWG) and CED’s Real Estate Sector Advisory Committee (RESAC).
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to support investment decisions and promote Calgary’s competitiveness.
  • Attend and represent CED at local and national real estate events such as NAIOP, ULI, BILD, and the Calgary Real Estate Forum.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain client information in CED’s CRM platform, tracking engagement from initial inquiry to occupancy.
  • Distribute RESAC communications and ensure timely reporting on real estate developments and business success stories.
  • Support internal and external reporting with accurate documentation and tracking of real estate activities.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with CED teams and external partners to support real estate components of broader investment attraction efforts.

  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across public and private sectors to remove barriers and enable timely project execution.
