Non-Union- Human Resources Assistant- Temp Part-Time (Up to 12 Months)
About the role
The Human Resources Assistant supports the daily operations of the
Human Resources department, ensuring that various portfolios are properly maintained. The Human
Resources Assistant supports recruitment and staffing process for multiple vacant union and non-union
positions, provides vacancy information to both internal and external candidates, conducts reference
checks, supports student placements,and maintains effective working relationships with hiring
managers. The Human Resources Assistant participates in special events (such as job fairs and
promotion of health care careers).
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, days **(**with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital).
Status: Temp Part-Time up to 12 months (new vacancy)
Pay Rate: $28.37-$32.23
Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field.
Human Resources designation (e.g., CHRP, or working towards) is an asset but not
required.
Experience:
Minimum 4 months of experience in an HR-related or administrative role, typically
gained through a co-op, internship, or similar program, ideally in a healthcare or
regulated industry.
Required Skills:
Experience with HR software (e.g., HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems), preferred.
Knowledge of Ontario’s Employment Standards Act (ESA) and The Personal
Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Working knowledge of unions and collective agreements is preferred.
Comfortable using printers, fax machines, scanners, etc.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer orientation
