Job Description:
Under the direction of the school principal and the instructional supervision of the classroom teacher, the Intermittent Staff member will have the opportunity to work as a Student Support worker (supporting students that may be developmentally delayed, physically challenged, deaf, blind, or experiencing social/emotional and behavioural difficulties), as a Kindergarten Support Worker (working in a kindergarten class assisting the classroom teacher), Office Assistant or Library Clerk.

- Classroom Supervisor assignments can only be accepted the morning of the vacancy;
- candidates must be able to provide a reference from a permanent OCSB staff member.
Required Qualifications:
- Over 18 years of age;
- preference will be given to current university or college students or graduates of a university or college program;
- experience working with children with a variety of physical, learning styles, intellectual disabilities and behavioural or other learning difficulties;
- experience working with students from different cultural backgrounds;
- effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- knowledge of teaching practices or previous work with children and youth is an asset;
- all successful candidates will need to provide a valid vulnerable Police check (dated 6 months or less) at the time of onboarding. Failure to do so will disqualify you from continuing in the hiring process.
Salary:
- $144.23/day + 4% vacation pay as a Classroom Supervisor.
- Student Support (Intermittent): $25.24/hour. (Effective as of September 1st, 2025, the pay rate is $26.24/hour).
- Kindergarten Support (Intermittent): $24.03/hour plus vacation pay. (Effective as of September 1st, 2025, the pay rate is $25.03/hour)
- Office Assistant (Intermittent): $25.24/hour plus vacation pay. (Effective as of September 1st, 2025, the pay rate is $26.24/hour)
- Daily Library Clerk (Intermittent): $25.24/hour plus vacation pay. (Effective as of September 1st, 2025, the pay rate is $ 26.24/hour)
