We are currently seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our growing team as a Technician at our Kamloops location.
HME Home Health is a fast-growing company, with over 130 full-time staff in offices located in Richmond, South Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, North Vancouver, Sechelt, Abbotsford, and Kamloops. Hours for this role are full-time Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. HME offers a competitive wage along with a full benefits package inclusive of extended medical benefits.
We are looking for a motivated, task-oriented individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.
What you will do for HME:
- Assisting in general warehouse duties such as organizing, stacking inventory, moving equipment, general stock picking as needed.
- Delivering, setting up, and installing home medical equipment within a client’s home and/or facility using company procedures, when required. This equipment includes wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, and pediatric equipment such as strollers and standers.
- Shipping and receiving duties.
- Constantly working to improve product and technical knowledge and continuously developing troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Communicating with clients and their families by phone when required to assist in troubleshooting equipment.
- Operating any one of company’s service fleet vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Ensuring products arrive in a timely fashion.
- Labeling parts/equipment using the company process.
- Communicating to staff if items are not available or back-ordered.
- Setting up and inspecting equipment in a manner that ensures the overall cleanliness, safety, and quality of the equipment we are providing.
- Lifting weight of up to 50lb is required in some cases.
- Ensuring orders, customizations and equipment adjustments are completed in a timely manner.
- Adhering to company’s safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills; fluent in English (both verbal and written).
- Strong computer skills (fast)- must be comfortable with MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
- Must have a valid full BC driver's license (L and N are not acceptable)
- Multi-tasking and hardworking
- Must have a friendly, positive attitude and have the ability to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment.
