Senior Software Developer - Full Stack

Location: Remote - Canada

What you’ll be working on

  • Full design and development cycle of applications and API’s from Proof of Concept to production.
  • Building easy to use applications for our customers and easy to use APIs for developers.
  • Research and development efforts as we evolve our digital platform

What we’re looking for you to have

  • 5+ years of experience with full stack web development, including front-end development with React and back-end programming in Python and Django/Fast API, or experience with similar technologies will be considered.
  • Experience working on a cross functional development team with an agile and lean software engineering mindset.
  • Experience guiding other developers through thoughtful code reviews, pair programming sessions, and architectural design discussions.
  • In-depth experience securing RESTful APIs and single-page applications using the OAuth2 framework.
  • Proven experience architecting asynchronous and event-driven systems that are built for high performance and fault tolerance.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining monitoring tools, leveraging OpenTelemetry to generate the critical metrics, logs, and traces needed for proactive performance tuning and rapid incident resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with the end-to-end container workflow, using containers to streamline local development and successfully deploy containerized applications into a production cloud platform.
  • Experience with DevOps processes and tools including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or other CI/CD tools.
  • Ability to pivot and adjust work items to match shifting business priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing timely and relevant communications in a professional manner to colleagues and key stakeholders.

It would be nice if you had…

  • Experience with a major cloud platform such as GCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform).
  • Experience with load testing.
  • Understanding through practical experience of 12 Factor Principles for application development and delivery.
