We are seeking an enthusiastic Part-Time Retail Associate to join our team. This role combines retail responsibilities with occasional animal handling and participation in public events.
Job Description:
As a Part-Time Retail Associate at our reptile zoo, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service, utilizing upselling techniques to enhance the shopping experience, and contributing to our exciting public programs. You will be responsible for assisting in the retail store during regular hours and helping with animal handling and feedings on weekends or as needed for public shows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers, answering their questions, and helping them with product selections.
- Upselling Techniques: Use effective upselling strategies to suggest complementary products, enhancing the customer’s experience and increasing sales.
- Animal Handling: Assist with reptile feedings and stage shows, ensuring safe and engaging interactions with animals during public events.
- Sales Targets: Achieve personal and team sales goals through proactive customer engagement and upselling.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the retail area is clean, well-organized, and stocked, including managing inventory and restocking shelves as needed
- Time Management: Efficiently balance retail duties with animal handling responsibilities, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Strong Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, including balancing retail and animal handling duties.
- Flexible Schedule: Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and occasional evenings, as needed for animal feedings and public shows.
- Outgoing Personality: Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills to engage customers and create a positive shopping experience.
- Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment, with a demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide excellent customer service.
- Animal Handling Skills: Comfortable with handling reptiles and participating in public interactions, with a willingness to learn about animal care and behavior.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure that store displays and product presentations are accurate and attractive.
Preferred Skills:
- Upselling techniques
- Reptile Care Knowledge: Basic understanding of reptile care and behavior is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
