About the role
Adecco, in partnership with Special Olympics Saskatchewan Is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly motivated individual to serve as the Executive Director (ED) of the provincial organization. They will be responsible for managing the organization's infrastructure fulfilling its strategic mission and priorities, and ensuring the growth, quality, and sustainability of the organization. The Executive Director reports to the volunteer Board of Directors.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years relevant leadership experience in the social, public, private sector.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to operationalize strategic plans.
- Experience in financial management and organizational development.
- Volunteer management experience with boards and committees.
- Experience with non-profit governance a plus.
- Understanding of the sport delivery system in Saskatchewan and the role of a provincial sport governing body a plus.
- Demonstrate fundraising experience or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and public relations skills
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Governance
- Work with the Board to ensure the organization has strategic planning/ priorities.
- Ensure compliance with governance policies established by the Board of Directors, Special Olympics Canada and Special Olympics International.
- Review and update operational policies as needed.
- Identify, report on, and manage risks within the risk management framework.
- Support the board by assisting with new board member onboarding and orientation.
- Ensure all reports are filed with governing authorities.
Financial Management:
- Develop, present, and monitor annual and two-year budgets aligned with strategic priorities.
- Monitor and manage bank balances and financial statements.
- Oversee insurance and work with auditors for year-end audits.
- Manage fund redemption, transfer, investment, and reinvestment. Revenue Generation/Sponsorship:
- Ensure the organization raises the revenue needed to operate, grow and be sustainable.
Staff/Human Resources:
- Review job descriptions and compensation.
- Conduct annual staff performance reviews.
- Manage all staff-related matters.
- Ensure a succession plan is in place.
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to staff, contractors, and suppliers.
Marketing/Communications/Public Relations:
- Act as the spokesperson and advocate for the organization's mission and values.
- Promote and protect the organization's brand.
- Build positive relationships with government officials, partners, community leaders, and volunteers.
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies.
Programs & Services:
- Provide oversight and support for various programs and services
- Remuneration:
- Special Olympics Saskatchewan offers a competitive salary, including a comprehensive benefits plan.
Working Conditions & Expectations:
- Occasional evening and weekend work is expected, as well as travel throughout Saskatchewan and Canada. This is typically for attending games, or to attend events or meetings.
- Office location: Regina.
