Location: Corporate office in Mississauga. The location for the role is open to be across Canada.

Role:

The Healthcare Marketing Lead is responsible for strategic partnership with our Healthcare & Senior Living Sales Team. They will deliver growth in new, lost and penetration through effective marketing activity including customer-facing food shows and event management, customer and sales education, trade advertising and Direct-to-Customer (DTC) email marketing and social media. The role will partner with Sysco’s vendors by designing and managing our Annual Partnership Program, marketing our Sysco Brand and national brand products, and engaging with our field teams. This role will stay abreast of market trends, identify top growth opportunities and manage a budget with clear return on investment (ROI). This role will partner with the broader Marketing Team, the VP of National Accounts for Health Care and Seniors Living, Nutrition Services, the Field Sales & Marketing Team, and all Regional Sales Teams to plan, execute and measure Marketing deliverables. Collaboration with all other functional teams, including Executive Leadership, is a critical part of this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leads all Healthcare and Senior Living marketing activity for Sysco Canada, from end-to-end campaign planning to execution and reporting of all key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Builds innovative and effective Healthcare Marketing strategies in partnership with the VP, Healthcare Sales and VP, Marketing that are fully aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
  • Partners with key field stakeholders to design and execute customer facing food shows and events, acting as the on-site lead, coordinator and vendor contact.
  • Manages virtual and in-person events such as Nourishing Conversations, Regional Vendor Showcases, Industry Partnership events and more, including event communications, logistics and presenter coordination/content management.
  • Develops and manages both internal and external Healthcare Marketing communications. This includes email content, video creation, copywriting, power points, point of sale (POS) and layout.
  • Designs and enhances our Annual Vendor Partnership Program to drive product education and confidence, impact the core KPIs and build strong relationships.
  • Tests, measures and recommends marketing strategies for continual improvement and ROI.
  • Partners with other Marketing Team members, and Centers of Excellence to ensure all marketing content is consistent in message and aligned to our business objectives and key brand claims.
  • Manages outside agency partnerships.
  • Works closely with the Field Sales & Marketing team to plan, budget, promote, and execute programs, events and supporting materials.
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Two (2) years’ work experience in food service distribution, healthcare food service operations and/or food service marketing.
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Diploma/Degree in Nutrition, Human Ecology, Food Sciences, Food Administration, or Food Service/Hospitality is an asset.
  • Candidate must possess strong organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with event planning is required.
  • Candidate must have a high skill level with technology and social media. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience with social media management, content design and copywriting.
  • Ability to build strong, strategic relationships with teams, departments and organizations.
  • Solid knowledge of Salesforce/Marketing Cloud/Google Analytics.
  • Ability to succeed with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment.
  • Must be able to handle high-volume, short-deadline projects.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian healthcare marketplace and familiarity with Sysco’s key healthcare suppliers and products is a definite asset.
  • Must work well in a team environment and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Intermediate or Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle may be required. Some travel (up to 10%) is required
