About the role

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking Auxiliary Instructors to instruct our Finance & Investment Management courses for learners aged 13-18 This role mainly involves covering instructor absences as needed. It’s an excellent opportunity for new instructors eager to gain experience, or for those seeking flexibility! Students will be learning the psychology of money, how investments grow, and how to make informed decisions about finance and investment. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in finance and investment strategies and managing portfolios, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.

Instructors must be able to work from 9am-3pm, from July-August at McGill University - Downtown Campus

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the Finance and Investment Management course curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they create a simulation of an investment portfolio.
  • Showcase proficiency in making investment decisions based on market data
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Role Requirements

  • Previous professional experience in finance and investment roles.

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in business or finance.

  • Proficiency in stock market analysis, analyzing company financial statements and building stock portfolios.

  • Understanding of investment strategies and good practices like value investing, growth investing, momentum investing, and diversification.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.

  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.

  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.

  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
