Group Business Specialist (Contract)

JOB STATEMENT:
The successful candidate will be an essential member of the Workplace Solutions Team and will be responsible for managing workflow processes in a fast-paced sales and service environment. This individual will need to work in concert with others on the team, in the delivery of our “Humanizing Benefits” approach in support of the business development team, our advisors and their customers, while looking after their own specific area of responsibility. This dynamic position requires a self-starting, adaptive, versatile person with effective communication skills who is interested in pushing beyond their accustomed comfort zone as we work to navigate and deliver a complex array of traditional, innovative and disruptive plans and programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adopting a clear understanding of our Humanizing Benefits story;
- Delivering gratifying Humanizing Benefits experiences while interacting with stakeholders;
- Adopting a firm understanding of how IDC WIN Workplace Solutions works, our business models, and our differentiators;
- Managing the renewal and/or new business process for the IDC WIN Workplace Solutions block of business – including requesting renewals and new business quotes from carriers;
- Analyzing claims data and utilization patterns to assess the performance of current benefits plans and working with the Business Development Executives (“BDEs”) to offer alternative solutions, cost containments and recommendations if needed;
- Working with the BDEs on negotiations with insurance providers to secure favorable renewal and/or new business rates;
- Navigating the insurance carrier portals efficiently to download important reports and data that might be required on a given case;
- Maintaining accurate records of benefit plans, renewals and amendments made during the year;
- Formatting and marketing an existing benefit plan to other insurance companies, and retrieving the required documents for that process;
- Providing recommendations or showcasing new concepts to advisors by having key knowledge in all product lines that we support;
- Providing input and feedback on processes, documents and tools that IDC WIN develops and deploys as we continue to build the Workplace Solutions Division; and
- Supporting the ongoing creation, development and maintenance of tools and processes for best practices in IDC WIN’s Workplace Solutions business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with advisors and group insurance clients – sales, renewal processes and customer service
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and process in a timely manner to meet deadlines
- Organized with the ability to prioritize workload
- Strong problem-solving abilities
