About the role
Canada North Environmental Services (CanNorth) is an aboriginal-owned environmental services firm specializing in the biological/environmental sciences. CanNorth has a strong foundation and proven experience in environmental consulting, monitoring, modeling, and environmental impact assessments.
CanNorth is seeking a highly motivated data analyst to work with our talented and innovative multidisciplinary team in Saskatoon, SK. Responsibilities in this position will include:
- Develops and monitors database outputs and data collection applications.
- Develops and performs database and EarthSoft queries.
- Develops dashboards and database reports.
- Identify trends and opportunities in data reporting and collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to achieve data reporting goals.
- Provide guidance and instruction to staff related to EarthSoft applications.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of relevant previous experience.
- Demonstrated experience with data visualization / BI tools (Report Builder and Power BI).
The candidate must have solid written and verbal communication skills (English), hold exceptional organization skills, and be able to correspond with staff in a professional way. Must be able to manage time effectively both independently and in team environments and be dedicated to high-quality results. Experience analyzing and troubleshooting complex problems. Applicants should have a solid understanding of information management principles. Experience with EarthSoft applications and Microsoft SQL Server or similar database programs is considered an asset.
