About the Position

Our client, a leading company in the e-cigarette industry based in Toronto, Canada, is seeking an Internal Auditor to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about strengthening internal process controls and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks, contributing to the sustainable growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute internal audit projects across various departments, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
  • Develop, implement, and update audit plans, programs, and procedures.
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical solutions to enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Directly report to the CFO of the company. Prepare clear and timely audit reports for the senior management, board and other stakeholders.
  • Follow up on audit findings and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal auditing.
  • Perform ad-hoc audits and activities as may be required from time to time.
  • Constantly collaborate and communicate with other functions of the organization to improve internal controls in a fast moving environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, IAP, CIA, or CRMA are preferred.
  • Accounting or financial audit experience is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in internal auditing, preferably within a manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment, and audit methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
