We are in search for a candidate that holds transportation experience in counselling and Driver Training.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage all incidents to ensure proper procedure is followed in office and documentation is accurate, complete and communicated as needed
- Serve as an expert and resource on all areas of safety and compliance, including regulation and best practices.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses to identify causes and prevent future occurrences. This involves analyzing data, determining patterns or trends, and implementing corrective actions.
- Use technology like GPS and telematics to monitor driver behavior, such as speed, braking patterns, and adherence to routes. This data helps in coaching drivers and improving overall safety.
- Design and deliver training programs for drivers on topics such as defensive driving, proper vehicle operation, and handling hazardous conditions.
- Ensure company is meeting or exceeding all legislative requirements
- Continually assessing the safety knowledge within the various levels of the company, and making recommendations for training to address any gaps
- Develop, host and/or coordinate training sessions in various topics as needed
- Involved in providing logbook, hours of service, safety and compliance training to drivers
- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes, identify corrective and preventative actions
- Report and schedule follow-up with drivers on any violations, tickets, accidents, injuries, claims and other incidents
- Monitor compliance of Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines, supports and mentors on safety standards, policies and industry standards
- Working with drivers to ensure various permits, licenses and other safety-related materials are kept up to date
- Communicate effectively and use conflict resolution skills to diffuse any conflicts that may arise with driver. Determine steps and measures necessary to follow up with resolution
- Handle driver complaints and work internally to improve driver retention
- Document and organize safety related information
- Other duties- Driver Orientation, compliance monitoring, ELD and Logbooks Audit
Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven team player with ability to align position goals with corporate strategic goals
- Proven strength in communication and relation building
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada
- Knowledge of hours of service
- Transportation Knowledge.
- Class 1 license is an Asset
