SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

$77,381.86 - $89,848,11 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for monitoring the Commission’s cash position, preparing complex and comprehensive cash flow forecasts, managing loan/borrowing accounts, performing reconciliation and accounting duties related to provincial and federal funding, and overseeing all Housing Hub transactions. He/she/they develops and implements cash flow forecasting and Housing Hub processes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field
  • Considerable progressive experience in the accounting or finance field
  • or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of accounting and financial administration
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the Commission’s mandate, its operating/administrative requirements, and related business processes and practices
  • Strong analytical, investigative, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines with changing priorities
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in relevant applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and initiative, be results focused and make effective decisions
  • Ability to deal with clients with diplomacy and tact and provide accounting advice to staff with non-financial backgrounds
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, when working with financial information
