FinVentures Canada is a fintech headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario. Our team brings experience in developing and commercializing financial technology products. We're focused on reimagining how Canadian businesses pay and get paid with transparency, security, and fairness at the core.
We are currently seeking a Lead or Director of Product Management to join our growing team and take ownership of our payments product strategy, with an emphasis on technology, interoperability and pricing models. This is a foundational role with the opportunity to influence product direction, go-to-market strategy and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our payments platform with a dual focus on technical excellence and market competitiveness.
- Drive end-to-end product development, from ideation through launch and iteration, working closely with the R+D, compliance, and sales teams.
- Develop pricing models that reflect our brand values of fairness and transparency, while ensuring commercial viability and regulatory alignment.
- Collaborate with compliance and regulatory experts to ensure product features meet Canadian standards (including Payments Canada, FINTRAC, and Bank of Canada regulations).
- Own the interface between product capabilities and financial performance, analyzing unit economics, interchange, merchant fees and platform cost recovery.
- Evaluate partner APIs, payment networks, and technology infrastructure with a view to integration, scalability and reliability.
- Maintain close awareness of Canadian and global payment trends, including open banking, real-time rails (RTR), and emerging business use cases.
- Define metrics to track product performance and ensure alignment with company strategy.
What You Bring:
- Experienced in product management in fintech or payments, including some leadership responsibility.
- Comfortable owning both technology-driven and pricing/monetization-focused product decisions.
- Familiar with the Canadian payments landscape, including EFT, Interac, Visa/Mastercard/AMEX networks, and regulatory context (Retail Payment Activities Act, PCI-DSS, etc.)
- Adept at cross-functional collaboration, especially in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Skilled in working with technical teams to evaluate integration complexity, reliability, and infrastructure costs.
- Analytical and confident working with data to model product performance and profitability.
- Committed to building user-centric solutions that are secure, scalable, and simple.
