Who does not enjoy starting the day with a hearty breakfast? For 61 years, the IHOP family restaurant chain has served our world-famous pancakes and a wide variety of breakfast, that are loved by people of all ages — offering an affordable, everyday dining experience with warm and friendly service.
Located at the landmark of Niagara Falls, IHOP is a busy breakfast restaurant. We are currently seeking highly enthusiastic candidates to fulfill the position of Server to join our team. As a team member at IHOP, you would be working on a variety of stations in a fast-paced environment.
Summary
Provide a level of hospitality and service that exceeds expectations by utilizing the restaurant service standards. Effectively provides menu information, takes guests’ orders, and provides excellent service.
Specific Functions and Duties:
· Delivers food and drinks to guests.
· Greet guests, answer questions, makes suggestions regarding food, drinks, and service.
· Interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
· Relays orders to the service bar and kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system.
· Observes guests and respond to any additional requests.
· Presents guest check to each table and accepts a form of payment. Makes the correct change and/or completes the proper charge card procedure.
· Participates in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables.
· Ability to wipe down tabletops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
· Mobility required during the entire shift.
· Working with team members to provide an exceptional guest experience.
· Communicating order details to the kitchen staff.
· Delivering food and beverages in a timely fashion.
· Delivering checks and collecting bill payments.
Job Requirements:
· Experience is an asset but not necessary. We will provide training to the right candidate.
· Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
· Multitasking, organizational and time management skills.
· Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
· Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
· Must showcase teamwork and communication skills.
· Must be able to handle money transactions responsibly.
· Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills are required.
